The Naples Woman's Club has contributed substantial scholarships and awards to Collier County high school students for academic college scholarships, vocational scholarships, arts scholarships and community service awards.

In addition, the Club recently initiated an annual scholarship that is given to a Collier County woman who is pursuing further education.

The following is a list of the available scholarships, the criteria, and how to apply.
  



Dora Valentine Empowering Women Scholarship - $1,000

Scholarship: The Dora Valentine Empowering Women Scholarship was established in 2007.  It is a $1,000 annual scholarship that is awarded to a Collier County woman who has demonstrated financial need, is a single parent with no spousal support and has an interest and capability to pursue a continuing education.

Deadline: October 1

Louise Prothero Leadership Scholarship - $14,000


Scholarship: The Louise Prothero Leadership Scholarship was established in 1999.  It is four-year, renewable scholarship of $3,500 a year and is available to Collier County high school students. The recipient is chosen for his or her exemplary leadership abilities. The scholarship is administered through the Community Foundation of Collier County. 

Deadline: Friday, February 19

How to apply: Students interested in applying for this scholarship should contact their guidance counselor.  



Dorothy Edwards Vocational Awards - $1,500

Scholarship:
The Dorothy Edwards Vocational Awards were endowed in 1992.  The scholarship is a renewable technical/vocational scholarship for continuing education.  The award amounts may vary. In  most cases, the award is $1,500 with an option to renew for a second year. The scholarship is administered through the Community Foundation of Collier County.

Deadline: Friday, February 19

How to apply: Students interested in applying for this scholarship should contact their guidance counselor.  



NWC Community Service Awards- $1,000 and $500

Awards:
The Naples Woman's Club Community Service Awards were initiated in 2002 and recognize service to our Collier County community.  There are two awards:one for $1,000 and one for $500.  Recipients are selected based on number of volunteer hours, longevity of activities, student initiative and innovation, dedication, as well as a subjective essay.  Selection is made by the NWC Philanthropy Committee from the applications submitted through the NWC Educational Scholarship (see below).



Beryl B. Paulson Memorial Scholarship - $1,000

Scholarship:
The Beryl B. Paulson Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship given to a young lady who is pursuing advanced education and is based on financial need. 

Deadline: Friday, February 19

How to apply: Students interested in applying for this scholarship should contact their guidance counselor for an application form or use the application located here. Official transcripts must accompany application.  No personal references accepted. Forms may be returned to the guidance counselor or mailed to the Naples Woman's Club by the deadline date listed above.  


NWC Educational Scholarships- $1,500 

Scholarship:
The Naples Woman's Club Educational Scholarships recognize academic excellence and community service.  The goal is to support and encourage students' quest for higher education by providing financial assistance. The NWC Education Department reviews applications, selects finalists and conducts final interviews. 

Deadline: Friday, February 19

How to apply: Students interested in applying for this scholarship should contact their guidance counselor for an application form or use the application located here. Official transcripts must accompany application.  No personal references accepted. Forms may be returned to the guidance counselor or mailed to the Naples Woman's Club by the deadline date listed above.
