Something to be Thrilled About
We are thrilled to announce three wonderful writers who will join us for the 13th of March as our speakers for a Thriller of an Author Talk:
St. Martin’s press and best selling authors Greer Hendricks and Sara Pekkanen. (authors of the instant, New York Times bestselling The Wife Between Us and An Anonymous Girl). They’ll be on tour then, for their new one (YOU ARE NOT ALONE; March 3), The two write their thrillers together, and will talk about this interesting approach to collaborative writing. The Wife Between Us is a book club favorite.
Local author Diane Ketcham, former NYT columnist and rave review author of mysteries. Ketcham is a novelist and former columnist for The New York Times. Her novel, The Vanishing A-list was the winner of two national mystery/suspense awards. Her next novel Naples: Paradise Can Be Deadly also received enthusiastic reviews.
Unlike other book talks in a room of 500+ people, we invite you to our intimate and creative surroundings for a special afternoon hearing from our authors as they share and bring forth a real sense of their written realities and process!
For years, the Naples Woman’s Club has held a Flea Market at the Clubhouse and parking lot. Community members have donated countless objects of clothing, housewares, electronics, toys, and much more, and all are sold to support the charitable activities of the club. Items that remain are donated to the Shelter For Abused Women and Children.
Non-profit organizations are offered the opportunity to have tables in the parking lot for a small fee. Details are still being developed and will be available closer to the event. For inquiries, contact Kathy Abraham, email@example.com.
Each year, the Naples Woman’s Club invites scholarship recipients and their families to celebrate their awards. This reception will recognize each winner and provide the winners with the detailed packet needed to receive their financial award.
The members of the public are welcome to join in the celebration at the clubhouse at 570 Park Street.
THE ARTISAN MARKETPLACE
The Naples Woman’s Club will present the sixth annual Artisan Marketplace featuring talented artisans and their wares for sale. Included will be pottery, paintings, textiles, jewelry, clothing and accessories, and more! The event will be held at the Clubhouse at 570 Park Street. Admission is free.
PREVIEW Cocktail Party
The 2020 Artisan Marketplace Preview Cocktail Party will be announced at a later date. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served while guests enjoy a private viewing of the artisans’ works. Guests will also enjoy fabulous items on a silent auction to support the Fine Arts College Scholarship Fund.
Empowering Women Luncheon
Date to Be Determined
Over 10 years ago the Empowering Women’s Committee started with a gift of $500 in memory of Dora Valentine, a long time member and supporter of mature women who needed financial assistance in furthering their education. The initiative has grown and now the Club has funded several scholarships for mature women through donations and by hosting a very special luncheon at Windstar Country Club. Speakers include the scholarships recipients. Members of the public are invited to join us, and the net proceeds will benefit the mature women scholarship program.
