Katherine Dean was born in Seoul, Korea, and began her journey in Malibu, California when her family relocated there when she was just 6 years old. She pursued her higher education at U.C.L.A., where she cultivated a strong foundation for her career.

Joining Hyundai Motor America after graduation, Katherine embarked on a 21-year career at the company’s North American headquarters in Southern California.  She worked in various departments such as HR, Administration, Public Relations, and Marketing. While at Hyundai, she earned her MBA. During her tenure, she became the first female vice president in the world. This helped pave the way for numerous women to follow suit in similar positions globally.

A detour to Indiana saw Katherine exploring the joys of being a stay-at-home mom, albeit briefly, as her twin daughters encouraged her to return to the professional realm.

While residing in Indiana, Katherine worked for a small biotech working on treatments for cancer.  They developed an efficacious drug which was eventually acquired by Novartis.

In 2019, Katherine and her husband founded NAWI, an endeavor aligned with her passion for uplifting people, creating a platform where she can contribute to making individuals feel better about themselves. Her personal life is filled with joy from her blended family comprised of four daughters and one son. They share a love for culinary experiences, travel, boating, and an active lifestyle to balance their gastronomic delights.

She is ecstatic to be a part of the Naples Woman’s Club, an organization that champions extraordinary women and aids so many within the community.
